HuNCC Smash Puny Prediction. There are a set of problems that I call: HuNCC problems (Human Nature, Complexity, and Change). I used to call them CAS (Complex Adaptive Systems) problems and later I called them VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity) problems. But those are both too narrow of terms. Agile is what happened when the Software folks decided to take HuNCC seriously. Lean is what happened when Manufacturing industry decided to take HuNCC seriously (and rebranded, refined out of TPS). OODA is what happened when the Military folks decided to take HuNCC seriously. The Lean startup is what happened when Entrepreneurship decided to take HuNCC seriously (and rebranded, refined out of Steve Blank's stuff). Science is what happened when philosophers decided to take HuNCC seriously. 5 problems, 5 domains, 5 different solutions. But they're all related, and if you're dealing with hard, low predictability problems in HuNCC's world, then you could probably use approaches from all of them.
